ABA Tax Section’s Fall Tax Meeting Returns with Special SALT Programming in Seattle

The American Bar Association Tax Section will host its 2026 Fall Tax Meeting from October 5 through October 9, bringing together leading tax attorneys, government officials, and tax professionals to discuss the latest developments in federal, state, and local taxation. The event offers a combination of educational programming, networking opportunities, and discussions on emerging issues affecting the tax profession. 

This year’s program includes sessions focused on tax policy, corporate taxation, tax controversy, partnerships, tax technology, employee benefits, transfer pricing, cryptocurrency, and court procedure. Attendees will have access to programming designed to address the most significant issues facing taxpayers and practitioners today.

Dedicated SALT Programming

A highlight of the meeting is the ABA Tax Section’s dedicated State and Local Tax programming.

While the overall Fall Tax Meeting is largely virtual, the State and Local Tax Committee will gather in person in Seattle, Washington. The SALT Committee meeting will be hosted by Perkins Coie LLP at 1301 2nd Avenue, Suite 4200, Seattle, Washington. Attendees may participate either virtually or in person and will receive CLE credit regardless of attendance format. 

The SALT programming is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, or 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, providing practitioners with an opportunity to engage directly with fellow SALT professionals and discuss current state tax developments impacting taxpayers across the country.

The session will bring together practitioners focused on state and local taxation to discuss key developments, emerging issues, and practical considerations affecting today’s SALT landscape. The ABA Tax Section’s 2026 Fall Tax Meeting will take place October 5 through October 9, 2026. Tax professionals may attend the conference virtually, while SALT practitioners also have the option to participate in person during the Seattle committee programming.
