Event Highlight: Examining the Cases Shaping Sales Tax Litigation
Among the Symposium’s many advanced sessions, one event highlight is “5 Cases to Wake You at 5:00 a.m.,” scheduled for Monday, September 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session will provide a nationwide survey of significant judicial developments in sales and use tax over the past year and examine the issues gaining traction in litigation across multiple industries.
Attendees will explore recent court decisions, emerging legal trends, and the practical implications those developments may have for taxpayers, advisors, and state tax authorities. The discussion is designed to help practitioners identify legal issues that may become the next wave of SALT controversies and understand how recent rulings could affect compliance and litigation strategies moving forward.Â
Notably, our very own Jeanette Moffa, Partner at Moffa Tax Law, will serve as a speaker alongside John F. Fletcher of Jones Walker LLP. Together, they will analyze key judicial decisions from around the country and discuss the broader litigation trends influencing the sales and use tax landscape.
